Microneedling

The ultimate anti-ageing treatment

For repairing skin damage or reversing the effects of ageing, microneedling, a collagen induction therapy, is the ultimate treatment to rejuvenate skin. Microneedling uses microscopic needles to puncture the first layer of skin, stimulating the skin cells to produce collagen and elastin. This natural regeneration process repairs skin damage and revitalises the skin resulting in a more youthful appearance. We use Mesoestetic microneedling. Mesoestectic is the world leader in the medical cosmetics and aesthetic medicine sector. Mesoestetic’s rigorous clinical trials create spectacular results safely and effectively for all skin types.

Improve Skin Texture

Microneedling improves skin texture, reduces the appearance of scars and creates a more youthful look. As well as general skin rejuvenation, microneedling is an effective treatment for several different skin concerns, including:

  • Acne scarring
  • Blackheads
  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Pigmentation
  • Scarring
  • Stretch marks
  • Sun damage
  • Uneven skin tone

Microneedling is a minimally invasive technique. It isn’t usually painful, but we can use a numbing cream to reduce discomfort and help you relax during your treatment.

Afterwards, your skin may look and feel mildly sunburnt from 24 hours to a couple of days, but we’ll advise on appropriate aftercare.

If your skin requires hydration, we can add a course of hydration facials four and two weeks before your microneedling treatment to boost the skin for maximum results.

HOW does microneedling work?

The treatment involves applying the m.pen[pro], a state-of-the-art precision microneedling device tool, to the skin’s surface. The pen has microscopic needles that create microchannels in the upper layer of the skin. This process stimulates a wound-healing response which causes the skin cells to regenerate by producing collagen and elastin. The natural cell regeneration plumps your skin from within, reducing expression lines, pore size, scars and stretch marks and firming loose skin.

The microscopic channels also allow topical products to penetrate deeper into the skin, increasing their effectiveness.

Combining microneedling with a chemical peel

A chemical peel is a powerful exfoliating treatment that removes old, dry, dull cells from your skin’s surface, revealing new healthy skin underneath. This treatment is highly effective at reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage and hyperpigmentation, acne scars and uneven skin tone or redness.

Having a chemical peel alongside microneedling enhances the effect of the microneedling treatment. Without the older top surface layer, the needles can penetrate deeper into the skin and boost collagen production lower down. We may recommend a short course of chemical peels before you begin your microneedling treatment or we can combine them in one session. The recovery time after a chemical peel is minimal – normally within 24 to 48 hours.

We provide one-off microneedling sessions, but a course of treatments will give optimal results. Following a skin assessment, we’ll advise on the best treatment plan for your skin needs.
